POLICE STATION REPRESENTATION & INTERVIEWS UNDER CAUTION

While in police custody and voluntary interviews.

The majority of police interviews are conducted while kept in police custody. Coomber Rich can provide free advice and assistance at police stations, providing you with disclosure that police would likely not provide to you ahead of your interview if you are unrepresented. We can prepare and guide you through the interview process.
Arrests are rarely anticipated, which is why we are available around the clock, seven days a week, 365 days of the year, to assist you at the police station and provide you with immediate legal advice, whenever you need us.

What to do?

Ask when being booked into police custody for free legal advice from Coomber Rich.
Increasingly people are being asked to attend voluntary interviews. Whilst you are free to leave these at any time, the police may arrest you if they consider that they have not been able to complete their investigation.

What to do?
Inform both us and the officer investigating that you require Coomber Rich to assist you at interview. This service is free.

Benefit Agency Investigations

A number of potential offences can arise by those suspected of committing benefit fraud. Typically, people are prosecuted under the Social Security Administration Act 1992.

Investigations into benefit fraud often involve a written invitation to attend an interview under caution at the Benefits Agency.

If you have received such a letter, contact us now as you need specialist advice as to whether or not it will be in your interests to attend such an interview at all.

If you have already been interviewed by the Benefits Agency and prosecution has already commenced, we have extensive experience in defending Magistrates and Crown Court proceedings.
